There are many, many roads that lead to the faith and everyone’s journey is different. We welcome your questions and look forward to having a conversation with you about our Lord Jesus Christ!

RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

The RCIA program is a process by which adults are welcomed into the Catholic faith. At Good Shepherd Church, adults (high school age and up) are first asked to attend Inquiry Sessions. These classes will be an opportunity for you to begin to learn about Jesus Christ and to help you discern if you are being called to the Catholic Church. It’s also a time for us to determine if you will be entering the RCIA program as a catechumen or as a candidate (one who is a baptized Christian but not in the Roman Catholic faith).

The following is a brief outline of the RCIA process:

Inquiry
Rite of Acceptance (entry into the Order of Catechumens or Candidacy)
Rite of Election (for catechumens)
Celebration of Sacraments of Initiation at Easter Vigil
Mystagogy (continued catechesis)

2014 –2015 Inquiry classes at Good Shepherd Church will begin in September. Day and time TBA – check the website for updates or contact the parish office for enrollment information.

You can find out more about the RCIA process here.

Non-baptized children between the ages of 7 – 14 who wish to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at Good Shepherd Church must complete two consecutive years of Faith Formation (including sacramental preparation). We recognize that each child’s life circumstances are unique. Please contact the Faith Formation Director and Father Forte to determine the requirements for your child.
